So what then??? What about those Witnesses who are living a genuine life and who are thriving spiritually from the WTS? Are we going to rape them of their peace and harmony simply because some of us don't agree with some or ALL of their policies?? Keep in mind, some people WENT to the Witnesses BECAUSE the world was ransacking them. And when the world itself had no real testimony to back their claims of their own true walk with God, then others see this and conclude the situation by saying "I see.... The world.... full of hate and adultery and fornication and pagan rituals are trying to destroy the Witnesses.... maybe the Witnesses have the Truth after all and are PERSECUTED for it.... I think I'll jump on board..." See? Don't people know by now that persecution from a hateful society or government, full of corruption and evil, will only drive the followers "closer together"? When the Witnesses see that a Trinity based religion, bloated with Pagan doctrines outside of the Bible, is trying to run them out of town, little does the Pagan religion realize that they are only adding ammunition to the Witnesses' ideologies? Come on. Sure, the WTS and elders and converts are human- unfortunately- and make mistakes. But are we to add a stronger wrong to a simple wrong? two wrongs don't make a right. And by the way, I'm not attacking anyone on this forum. I'm just requoting was I was taught in the JW religion. Sure, some of their policies might not jive with me, but am I going to pulverize them? NO.

What "Type" of "Apostate" Are You? Conservative, Liberal or In The Center?
by minimus insome are very much out there in trying to bring the watchtower down.
some will go to extreme measures to see to it that everyone knows how wrong the witnesses are.
others are less demonstrative and more liberal as to their approach and of course there are certain ones that are pretty much in the middle...... where are you??

by EAGLES ini hadnt been to a d.c. in about 10 years is it really true that congragations have to sit together now????

Quote from Eagles: "I hadnt been to a D.C. in about 10 years is it really true that Congragations have to sit together now???? Whats up with that is it so that the elders can see who's there and who isnt. That would blow my scam from way back when I would maybe make one half of one day and tell people I made all 4 days. How do they decide who gets the good seats the ones people show up at 6am to save? The congregation with the most pioneers gets the best seats?? What if you meet a hot chick from another congregation can you sit with her or do you have to wait till intermission to hold her hand. And where do visiters and DFers sit? With the congregation that invited/DFed them?? what about witnesses that missed their convention?? Anyway any light that can be shed will be appreciated." End of quote from eagles. No that is all incorrect.

Engardio's Article about Jw's in USA Today....
by AK - Jeff inhttp://www.usatoday.com/news/opinion/2007-05-06-opledereligion_n.htm?csp=34.
i agree with most of the 'benefits' he describes from the religion - particularly the civil liberties they have gained in the us.
story is one-sided, but ok.. by joel p. engardioplease excuse me if i ever disrupted your laundry, yard work or nap by knocking on your door.

Yeah I have to agree that the JWs are the only group of people I associate with on and off. Even though I didn't agree with some of their attitudes or policies, or other people dispize them, they have got to be still on my top five list of favorite religions. Too bad that some of their Kingdom halls are out of order with a cold formal spirit. And it's more or less my problem to an extent that I bailed out because they were moving "too slow" for my liking. It takes two to tango I suppose.

WTS uses church vocabulary to hide its purpose
by ozziepost inso often the wts uses 'respectable' language to obscure their true intent.. a recent news release sees them using the word "outreach".
03.19.07international outreach for millions more to attend.
this surely is not in their usual vocabulary, in fact if you were to ask the average dub i suggest they would find it difficult to give a clear description of its meaning.. yet in describing the distribution of the "special invitation" to the memorial, the wts describes that as 'outreach'.. interesting, i wonder what will be next?

They don't know what the terms "Denomination" or "Non Denomination" mean. They are unfamiliar with words like those. One means dependant with other church bodies, laymen and a president. The other means independant with deacons and a pastor as the head of that church alone. The JWs would fall under the category of Denomination.

The reason why JWs don't talk too much about the deceased parties is because for two reasons. (1): They don't mourn the deceased because they know that the deceased individual is Jehovah's memory and that they will see their deceased love ones in the resurrection. (2): For them to talk too much about the individual would almost be like "idolatry". This would be one of the reasons why some of the elders quote alot of scriptures so as to let uneducated ones know that there is a resurrection hope. The elders are trying to be careful not to put anybody on a pedestal accept God. Read the book "Reasoning From The Scriptures" on death and mourning. I know that this pains alot of you and I'm sorry that it does. However, these are some of the reasons why the elders do what they do. Sincerely; NIRY

I can't believe they just sat there...
by troubled mind insaturday i photographed a witness wedding .
during the part about the woman's role the speaker made the comment to the new bride ,"don't try to manipulate your husband .....we know how you women can be ...!".
my jaw noticeably dropped and i uddered " what the heck " as i looked around to look for support from other women there,.

I don't want to place doubt on your wedding story, but, of all the kingdom halls I been to and all the elders I listened to over the years, I have never heard of a story like that one. Sounds more like something a "Ultra Holiness" or "United Pentecostal" or "Church Of God" minister would say- not a JW minister. But I guess each congregation is a bit different from the other.

If you are dissasosiated............
by Heather indo the elders have to reinstate you if you start going back to meetings.
i was told a while back that you would be treated as a person on reproff with all restrictions but now i'm hearing that if i go back i will have to wait to be reinstated.....this is such bullsh**.
i really don't want to go back...but my grandmother just passed away last week and i went to the service(it was at the kh) and was able to see my family that for 4 years now has bearly talked to me...and i go to see my 2 beautiful nieces...whom i would love to have a relationship with.....so i started thinking maybe i could go to a few meetings to be able to have something to do with them.....well i went today....i was so upset earlier that i went and smoked a bit to calm me down...heeeeeeee .....so anyway....i was soo irritated and bored all the f-ing answers that some of them come up with....i guess i just keep thinking about the other side...they really do think that those of us on the outside are miserable......i was more miserable today then i have been in years just sitting there trying to pretend.

Heather, I unfortunately agree with what Vinny says. If you choose to disassociate, then you are assumed to have gone back into a sinful wordly lifestyle with full force. You are treated as though you were disfellowshipped. If you weren't baptised, fell away and came back, you are looked apon with doubt and expected to work harder to prove yourself. To me, that's BS but that's how it works. I recently shut them down because they tried that "slow" routine on me which ticked me off. See my thread entitled "Too Slow So I Shut Down The Show". I know their doctrines backwards forwards- lock, stock, and two smoking barrels. I agreed with alot of it. I should have gotten a pat on the back for coming back. Instead, some of them, not all, treated me as though I was "up for reinstatements". Yet, I was never baptized! They were dragging their heels with me so I let them know not do dick around with my patience. Take care and email me if you need to talk or something. Thanks. NIRY
